The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the final results of the sunset review of the antidumping duty on non-oriented silicon steel from Sweden, Germany, China, Korea, Taiwan and Japan, as well as countervailing duty orders on the same product from China and Taiwan.
The DOC has determined that revocation of the antidumping duty and the countervailing duty orders would likely to lead to the continuation or reoccurrence of dumping and injury to the US industry.
The weighted-average dumping margins have been set at up to 126.72 percent for Sweden, 98.84 percent for Germany, 407.52 percent for China, 6.88 percent for Korea, 52.23 percent for Taiwan, and 204.79 percent for Japan. Subsidy rates, on the other hand, are determined as 158.88 percent for Chinese exporters and 17.12 percent Leicong Industrial Company, Ltd. and 8.61 percent for other Taiwanese exporters.
The products subject to the orders are currently classifiable in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) under subheadings 7225.19.0000, 7226.19.1000, and 7226.19.9000.
